Project Director / Manager responsible for all Lundy’s site activities as the Main Contractor responsible for the design and build of all civil related activities for signal gantries and signal posts between Blackfriars Bridge and Elephant & Castle Station (on viaduct structures) for the Thameslink Programme.The Programme was authorised to provide extensive railway infrastructure to enable longer and more frequent trains through the heart of London. The enhancement enabled New Cross London Services, improved accessibility to the South East and catered for expected demand growth in Docklands, London Airports and London Bridge Area.All structures required were to be installed on viaducts so the project proved to be very complex not only in design but also in its construction activities. To overcome additional contractor interface and de-risk any train delay on the project, Lundy introduced a foundation design and installation method that minimised any disruption or risk to the rail environment/ infrastructure during and post installation. This innovative strip foundation design allowed Network Rail to have flexibility in altering the position of the structure to suit signal sighting requirements. Due to this foundation design not relying on using the viaduct main piers for structural integrity or support. This proved to be hugely successful.Lundy’s design team also developed a new cable management system for the gantries allowing other contractors to install cables without the aid of mobile elevated platforms. This incorporated hinged panel flooring. All gantries were designed as cable bridges as no UTX’s could be installed on the viaducts.In recognition for design innovation, an excellent health & safety record and achieving all the key mile stones and commissioning dates Lundy were awarded “Outstanding Individual Project” by Network Rail.

Project Manager responsible for compiling the constructability studies and budgets for Bletchley Re- modelling Scheme Grip 4 on behalf of Network Rail. This was mainly for new signalling structures with associated piling works, concrete foundations and methods of superstructure installations along with associated risks. Responsible for all topographical, height and stagger surveys at each proposed structure installation. Finalise client report on the preferred installation methodology to help reduce risk to the Network Rail infrastructure.

Project Manager responsible for all of Lundy’ site activities as the Principal Contractor, involving installing and recovering signal structures within 4 hours NBS periods. Responsible for managing planning, cost reporting, safety, liaison with Network Rail, interface with other contractors, implementation of construction phase plans and work package plans of all civil and structural steel installations / recoveries. Management of all Heavy Lifting and all associated temporary works.

Project Manager responsible for all Lundy’ site activities as the Principal Contractor. This project mainly involved managing the design, manufacture and installation of 42 signal gantries within a SSSI site, installing retaining walls, piling works along with pile cap frames, ballast retaining walls, OLE piling and OLE structure installations. Nominated as CEM for the project works.Other responsibilities included managing cost reporting, safety, liaison with client, interface with other contractors, planning and implementation. Interface with NWR and adjoining landowners for local access arrangements. Communication with general public for engineering activity awareness. Liaison with Local Authorities and Environment Agencies for access, wildlife considerations and implementation of heavy engineering works. Responsible for Lundy Heavy Lift Division and all safety critical staff, including Engineering Supervisors, Core Planners, Controllers of Site Safety (COSS). 42nr gantries manufactured and installed.Award for ‘Excellence in Health & Safety Practices’ from Network Rail

Project Manager. Responsible for detail design of signal posts and associated components for Westinghouse Rail Systems, Coventry re-signalling scheme. Management of manufacturing activities, procurement and suppliers engaged in these works. Liaison with Client and NWR for construction, installation activities. Responsible for production of all Form A , Form B design and approvals. Attended IDC / IDR meetings.

Project / Manufacturing Manager for the supply of OHLE structures over a 2 year period to various clients across the network.

Project / Construction / Design Manager. Lundy awarded the supply and installation of 40 signal gantries for Norton Bridge Alliance. Responsible for detail design drawings and management of manufacturing of 4 track WCML gantries, also signal posts, walkways, platforms and bridge repairs along the Network Rail infrastructure.Award for “Recognition for Site Safety Award” from Railtrack & Carillion

Project Engineer / Design Manager. Lundy Awarded the supply and installation of 42 signal gantries for the Watford Bletchley Alliance. Responsible for detail design fabrication drawings, management of manufacturing four track signal gantries, signal posts, driver walkways.

Project / Design Engineer. Member of Rail track’s core design team developing a new signal gantry prototype for the West Coast Route Modernisation upgrade. This prototype gantry needed to be developed to allow Virgin Pendolino trains to run at 125mph from Manchester to London Euston in 2 hours. The prototype signal gantry was manufactured and installed at Ashfordby test site for trial purposes.
