This involved working on projects such as, engine design and development, componentry failure investigations, design validation planning, and prototype vehicle building.

This was a role that was carried out part-time around the final year of university study. Working this role gave a sense of worth through providing a much needed service to the public during times of lockdowns and self isolation periods caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. During my placement at Ricardo I was working within the Test Operations department. Where I primarily worked on Real Driving Emissions (RDE), utilising Portable Emissions Measuring Systems (PEMS), more specifically Horiba OBS-ONE. My work consisted of on and off highway applications, including type approval/certification, CoP, and benchmarking projects.
