I graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. As an undergraduate I often bridged my passion for storytelling with my love of science. I wrote for The Daily Texan, a student run newspaper at The University of Texas at Austin. I also interned at an NBC affiliated television station in Houston, Texas. Shortly after graduation, I moved to Beaumont, Texas where I started my first job as a test trainer for The Princeton Review. I moved from Beaumont to Doha, Qatar and taught SAT and ACT classes to high school students for The Princeton Review. After working in the Middle East, I moved back to Houston, Texas and taught eighth and ninth grade biology and science. In my spare time, I wrote for CNN iReport and Yahoo Voices. I graduated from Columbia University in 2017 with a master's degree in journalism. My focus was broadcast journalism. I learned how to shoot and edit video, create news packages, and become a more effective reporter. I covered stories on Pacific Park construction in Brooklyn, immigrant housing and rent regulation in Queens, and several education stories.I am now a reporter for WLKY News in Louisville, KY.
