Since the beginning of my professional journey in 2009, I have dedicated myself to the timber/manufacturing industry. With a strong work ethic and a passion for growth, I have steadily progressed through a range of operational roles, acquiring invaluable skills and experiences along the way. During this time, I had the privilege of taking on additional responsibilities such as serving as a safety representative and fulfilling ISO Auditing roles. These opportunities allowed me to further develop my expertise and broaden my understanding of best practices within the industry. In 2013, I achieved my first leadership position as a team leader, swiftly advancing to a supervisor role in 2015. As a supervisor, I successfully managed a two-shift operations team and effectively oversaw the mobile plant fleet in the log yard. This role demanded a high level of responsibility and a keen focus on ensuring smooth operations. From 2019 to the present, I have embraced the role of MHE, Stock & Driver Manager, where I hold complete accountability for all mobile plant functions and fleet management at the site. With an emphasis on budgeting, I meticulously set financial plans for the mobile plant fleet while prioritising stock accuracy and optimizing production centers' efficiency. This includes overseeing vital operations like biomass boiler, kiln drying, wood treatment, and despatch operations. Recognising the importance of continual growth, in 2020, I made a decision to turn my extensive business experience into a formal qualification. While working full-time, I eagerly pursued a BA degree in Business Management through a distance learning program. This endeavor allowed me to enhance my theoretical knowledge and complement my practical expertise with a recognised qualification. Upon completion of my degree, I extended my commitment to fostering opportunities for others by taking on an additional role at DYW (Developing the Young Workforce). In this capacity, I provide valuable information to the young people of the Lochaber area, showcasing the multitude of fantastic opportunities that are available right at their doorstep.
