I am a rare people-focused numbers person. I love to put business and people in positions to succeed and grow, and in my experience, the best way to achieve that is with a people-first approach. On many occasions, I have proven that taking the long view and prioritizing employee development and engagement has led to sustainable revenue growth far more successfully than when taking the bottom-line-only approach. As I have advanced in my career, I’m so grateful for the added responsibility because it has allowed me to continuously impact larger and larger groups of people. At HSBC, I instituted a culture shift to focus on client education as opposed to aggressive same-day sales. While this caused a momentary dip in revenue, the trust, and long-term commitments we earned from clients yielded regional-leading growth long-term. By improving employee benefits and instituting a culture of collaboration across other organizations I have managed, I’ve seen substantial improvement in revenue and staff retention. As I mentioned, I’m also a huge number lover, on many occasions, I have leveraged business analytics to drive 7-figure revenue growth for my organizations. This is another area of my work I find incredibly rewarding. When I’m not hard at work, I am very involved in my community. As a Board Member of the Lake Morningstar Community Corporation, and the Chairman of the Kent Hockey Referees Association, I am committed to supporting a thriving community in any way I can.
