Utilizes QRV to respond to advanced life support and critical care transport calls for service and acts as the primary caregiver.Proficient utilization of Baxter and Alaris IV pumps along with knowledge of various in hospital medications.Proficient in transporting patients on ventilators, CPAP, and Bipap. Adapts assessment, treatment, transport, and intervention plans based upon the unique circumstances of the patient and environment.

Develops and maintains partnerships with various government agencies, non government agencies, and private businesses in support of the integrated program. Coordinates and facilitates the development and periodic update of the county’s Emergency Operations Plan, Hazard Mitigation Plan, Recovery Plan and other plans as needed. Develops and implements a comprehensive training and exercise program to ensure the readiness of the county to respond to and recover from an event. Ensures the functionality and readiness of the county’s Event Operation Center and manages it during activations.Develops and manages the implementation of the annual Local Emergency Management Performance Grant and others as obtained. Coordinates or assists in the coordination of plans, resources, information, services, and facilities during all phases of the emergency management cycle.Serves as the liaison between County, State and Federal agencies. Develops budgets; assists with equipment purchases and maintenance.Coordinates the development of emergency plans and procedures concerning the handling of hazardous materials incidents, storage of hazardous materials and the release of information to the public.Maintains and implements the County-wide warning system; enhances system as deemed necessary. Applies for Federal financial assistance for emergency response purposes.Coordinates the development of effective and comprehensive emergency operations plans for Greenwood County, local government departments and other organizations within the jurisdiction. Develops and prepares materials for local emergency operations programs; assists schools and industries with preparing disaster plans. Plans and conducts simulated exercises to test plans and to train key personnel.

Administer first aid treatment or life support care to sick or injured persons in prehospital settings.Observe, record, and report to physician and nursing staff the patient's condition or injury, the treatment provided, and reactions to drugs or treatment.Coordinate with treatment center personnel to obtain patients' vital statistics and medical history, to determine the circumstances of the emergency, and to administer emergency treatment.Attend training classes to maintain certification licensure, keep abreast of new developments in the field, or maintain existing knowledge.Coordinate with other emergency medical team members, police, and fire department personnel.Assess the nature and extent of illness or injury to establish and prioritize medical procedures.Trains new employees, including newly certified paramedics and assists Training Coordinator as necessary.Assist the EMS Shift Supervisor; supervises an assigned shift of Emergency Medical Technicians and Paramedics
