I started my working journey by completing an electrical apprenticeship straight from school 1996 - 2001, after completing my apprenticeship I stayed with Lorne Stewart as an electrician until 2006. At this point i switched to sub-contracting and worked on large construction sites, my work ethic allowed me to stay on each job to the conclusion, after completing my final job at Southmead hospital, i decided it was time to change direction with my career and move into the hard FM sector and joined Carillion, who was maintaining Southmead Hospital which is a PFI contract, with my desire to learn and hard work, I have worked my way from Electrician to shift supervisor where It was my responsibility to keep the hospital operational outside of normal working hours with a small team of engineers, I worked on shift for three years before i took an opportunity that become available to become the operational supervisor. At this time Bouygues ES took over the maintenance contract from Carillion, I have been carrying this role out now for 5 yrs where i have gained huge experience, carrying out various tasks including, performance management, HR issues and risk assessments.I have now completed a Bouygues core Management programme, which has aided me in my development and to grow in confidence, which has now given me the desire to become an operational Manager when the right opportunity arises.Southmead Hospital is a fast paced working environment, with a high detailed contract that requires a lot of pre planned maintenance and reactive work that sometimes require some very tough on the spot decisions. I have learned with experience, you need to stay calm and be very flexible and I'm very driven to deliver the best performance achievable.I am very open to learning new skills, I have acquired Lift AP, fire Marshall and first aid, Also I'm a FIR Ambassador, with mental health first aid training, I'm a big believer in diversity and inclusion and try to bring this into my work force.In my private life, I am a Dad of three beautiful young ladies and my hobbies are football and golf. I am a big believer in work life balance, if we don't have those moments to look forward to life can become very hard
