Jamie is General Counsel & Company Secretary at the burgeoning global innovative legal services provider, LOD - Lawyers On Demand. LOD is an amalgamation of Lawyers On Demand in London, Balance Legal in Perth and Advent Lawyers in Sydney (of which Jamie is a Co-Founder). Jamie is responsible for regulatory and compliance issues across all of LOD’s jurisdictions, M&A opportunities, and other strategic initiatives. His role also includes a regional element as Legal Director in Australia, where he heads the practice of LOD's large team of flexible lawyers and supports LOD's growing Designed Solutions. Jamie has over 30 years’ experience as a corporate and commercial lawyer, including 18 years as a partner at Mallesons. He is very highly regarded for mergers and acquisitions, commercial contracts and governance work. He has led top ASX companies through their most strategic deals; helped small companies and entrepreneurs on their “bet the company” transactions; assisted governments with privatisations; advised non-profit organisations on their strategic issues and transactions; and heaps in between. No task is too big or too small. Jamie is clear thinking and super cool under pressure. He has a hands on approach, shoulders responsibility willingly and engages equally well with all levels of an organisation. He recognises that the fundamental role of an in-house counsel is to manage legal risk so as to support the strategic direction of the business.Jamie has a genuine zest for life and when he isn’t reminiscing about his youth as stockman in the Outback, can be found with his family and dodging ferries sailing on the harbour.
