About Jamie Saucedo

I am a first-generation, queer, non-binary, Latine graduate student completing my Master of Education in Student Affairs in Higher Education from Texas State University. As a diversity, equity, inclusion, accessibility, and justice scholarly practitioner, I seek opportunities to elevate and center student voices in programming utilizing the Positive Youth Development Model. I consider myself a co-collaborator of liberation with seven years of experience working to elevate historically marginalized, underrepresented students’ admission, persistence, retention, and success in higher education. Framing Joy as an act of resistance, I cultivate joy in my students’ marginalized identities utilizing holistic trauma-informed practices, Validation Theory, and the Community Cultural Wealth Model. My special interest include student organization advising, student leadership development, Latine/Queer/First Generation/Commuter student development, program curriculum development, and assessment.
