Moving to Brooklyn marked a new chapter in my journey—a determination to plant roots and build my career. A year and a half later, I’m proud to reflect on the progress made.When I arrived in NYC, I had a remote job but craved connection and growth in the city. Soon after, I joined Paychex as a Business Consultant, where I work closely with small businesses to understand their challenges and provide tailored solutions. I like to think of myself as a “business therapist,” collaborating with CPAs, accountants, EAs, and local banks to help businesses thrive and stay compliant. Being a people person, my goal is always to exceed client expectations.Previously at ParkHub, I was honored with the "Rising Star" award as the top-performing rep in 2021. By Q4 2022, I earned a promotion to Jr. Account Executive in the Sports & Entertainment vertical, where I gained experience managing key accounts. After ParkHub’s acquisition of SMARKING, I transitioned to the Commercial Real Estate (CRE) vertical and was promoted to Account Executive by Q2 2023. In this role, I worked with C-suite executives, handled enterprise accounts, and carried a quota exceeding $250,000 with a pipeline valued 4.5x its quota.I graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor’s in Human Development and Family Science, focusing on communication. I’ve also been a spokesperson for GSK’s meningitis awareness campaigns since 2015, having previously partnered with Sanofi and Novartis.My advocacy journey began after my personal recovery from meningitis. My family and I spearheaded legislation—the Jamie Schanbaum Act (amended in 2011 as the Jamie Schanbaum & Nicolas Williams Act)—mandating meningitis vaccinations for college students. We’re now working to expand it to include strain B. In 2009, we founded The Jamie Group, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization to promote awareness and prevention.In addition to advocacy, I represented the U.S. Paralympic Cycling Team in 2011. This experience taught me that dedication and resilience can open countless doors.Today, I’m passionate about helping businesses align technology with operations to maximize efficiency and growth.     In my first few years, I volunteered at the Farmers Market cooking samples at the 'Taste the Place' booth so customers could try our farmer's products. At the beginning of each shift, I was responsible for setting up our pop-up kitchen complete with outdoor sinks, a water station, a hand washing station, and a cook station. Then I would meet each of our vendors asking if they want us to sell/cook/sample out any of their products or if there was a meat/produce they would like for me to highlight or prep an item a certain way, I would do so. Once covid hit, samples were out. I was hired on by Belle Vie a ranching company selling organic and pasture-raised duck, pork, and chicken. I would help sell their product to new and current customers. I even asked and participated in a butchering experience to have an even more in-depth knowledge of the product. Needless to say, it's been a delicious experience working at the farmers market.
