I have a mixed background in Computer Engineering and Electrical Engineering, with a special focus in Power Electronics. I earned my Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering at Miami University in Oxford, OH, under Prof. Mark Scott, and my Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from The Ohio State University, Center for High Performance Power Electronics, under Prof. Jin Wang.I have nearly 6 years experience with topologies spanning inverters, voltage converters, battery chargers/dischargers, isolated power, linear regulation, and with stability analysis and optimization of MIMO dc microgrids. I built my first converter in 2017 as an undergraduate summer scholar, and continued my work and education with converters through grad school and into my career. I am published in the proceedings of the APEC 2018 conference, and my Master's thesis on stabilizing MIMO dc microgrids is available to read.My designs consider the whole converter, from power semiconductors, magnetics, and capacitors, to the control loop, including DSP/FPGA programming and analog closed loop controllers. My design process follows 6-sigma principles to minimize iteration through application of multiple simulation tools and rigorous analytical proofing of a design before even the first prototypes are produced. My EVT process follows the scientific method to catch and track bugs with minimal PCB rework, saving time and resources.
