During this temporary posting in the university's PR and Marketing Department, I was praised for my analytical mind and my ability to adjust.

I worked for a one year long Arts Council funded project, spreading the word about Barton's wealth of history and heritage in person, in the media and through my writing. This has brought more people into Barton's museums and heritage sites, as well as giving local people an insight into their town's past.

The business media focused Sticky Content Department appreciated my ability to work as part of a team writing and editing effective and concise articles for a variety of organisations to use on their websites.

In this role I wrote high quality website copy and news articles for the company and its client businesses, interacting to create copy that was relevant and useful for businesses and individuals alike.

While working in the hectic YEP newsroom, I would research my stories and get to really know the communities that I covered, allowing my articles to "jump off the page" according to my editor.

My formal writing skill was recognised in this role and I was additionally put in charge of reviewing, editing and re-writing many of the department’s policy documents and emails. The original role involved technical document sorting, security and analysis, communication of technical specifications and interaction with people in a range of roles on petrochemical sites.
