With the Maintenance Manager, I manage a team of seven people from hot tub to maintenance team members. In the absence of my line manager, I am the first contact for the team dealing with all issue that may arise during the working day and also part of my role, I am on call overnight for any emergency maintenance. As an Ambulance Crew member, I work within the Neo-Natal Unit and the Patient Transport Service. I transfer un-well babies from any Hospital in Devon and Cornwall and transport them to a specialist hospital anywhere in the UK. I also assist with the routine non-emergency work, involving patient transport to day centers, wards, clinics and other hospital departments. I ensure that older patients, who are in particular frail and with disabilities, are transported safely and comfortably.

I worked and volunteered for the North Cornwall National Trust as a Ranger, managing the coastline between Boscastle and Morwenstow. Responsible for ensuring that my team complete a wide variety of practical estate and conservation tasks, including constructing and installing kissing gates and stiles, building and maintaining stone walling, bridge and step installation, maintaining and cutting footpaths, fencing, strimming and mowing, invasive weed control, tree management, scrub-cutting, litter clearance, wildlife surveys and general estate management. It is important that these tasks are completed to a high standard and within the time frame set out by the Trust. A fundamental part of my role is to plan and deliver community engagement events. These include assisting with school visits and other educational events, such as sand sculpture days, rock-pool rambles, river sessions, local history talks and green woodcrafts.
