Level 2 support position for all AUS/NZ/MY/SG stores for Spotlight and Anaconda. Role is focused on developing solutions and investigating problems for POS, EFTPOS, Server, WLAN and LAN, PDA, Anti-Virus, PABX/IP phone, SUREfire issues within existing stores as well as travelling to new and relocating stores to assist with set up of all IT equipment. Also involved in project management of tier 3 projects that are relevant and are in direct relation to Store Services.

Level 1 support role that involved receiving calls and responding to emails regarding general network, application and hardware issues from retail stores and on-the-road consultants. Maintaining hardware and asset control for 120 on-the-road consultants. This role involves having a very broad knowledge base in many different areas. During my time at SRG I have been exposed to many common retail programs and systems such as Surefire, SRS/SAP, PDA's, POS's and been involved in the reporting of errors and testing of other applications that facilitate the everyday business of stores. I was also a part of an internal 6 month internship training in SAP that my main role was document creation of basic functions for entry level users and support members.

A part time job while at university, mostly night work. It was a good fit for the final semesters of my course as it freed up my days for working on my coursework.I have continued to work here while having a main job to help me reach my goals faster.

One project I developed during this time was a children's drawing app called Looky! that allowed sharing of children's drawings to family members to keep distant families closer. It began as a university project but I saw potential to release it and thought geographically distributed families could get enjoyment out of it. It also allows children to draw over photographs if they chose. It utilises twitter to allow family members to subscribe to see children's drawings from around the world. It allows unsupervised children to post pictures only to twitter and parental supervision is required to see responses from family members to protect the children during their usage of the application.

An Industry experience project through a single semester using a rapid development approach with iterative elements. As a group we provided a small business owner with a web system tailored to their needs using CakePHP primarily. Normally run over 2 semesters, this version of the course is a fast track and runs over only 12 weeks. It is offered to students who wish to accelerate their course and have met certain academic requirements. I was made project leader 4 weeks in after it was deemed a change was necessary.

Aided in troubleshooting of a third party software that was primarily for applications from volunteers. Its communication were not getting through to most email service providers and I was involved in finding a solution and general troubleshooting. Short term on call work when problems arose and general PHP advice.
