Langan Enterprises is a consulting and training firm formed by Brian Langan. Geeks, Inc was a sister company created to hold his Central Florida Geeks on Call franchise. I was employed by LEI (Langan Enterprises, Inc) doing business as Geeks on Call, and was the sole employee of Brian Langan's Geeks on Call franchise in Central Florida. In that role I handled all technical issues for business and residential clients in a two hour radius of Oviedo, FL.

I am a founding member of Sublimiquit, LLC, a seed stage company with a line of hypnotherapy CDs geared towards helping people quit smoking, lose weigh, and reduce stress. I am the go-to-woman for any and all market research. Responsible for all research leading up to and including the creation of a detailed business plan and Powerpoint presentation, for the purpose of acquiring funding from angel investors, private investors or venture capitalists. Worked the PPM (private placement memorandum) process to assist in securing funding. This project has been put on the back burner after the economic chaos of the last couple years.

Independently contracted as a Search Engine Evaluator. As a Search Quality Rater, I evaluated the quality of search engine results by working on many different types of rating projects. This enhanced my knowledge of the relationship between key words and search engine results, and vastly improved my working understanding of Search Engine Optimization (SEO).

Freelanced as a writer crafting search engine optimized (SEO) guides for the Writers Research Guild, specifically for Work.com and Business.com. Specialized in technical and computer industry related guides. Two of my guides were chosen as examples of how to correctly craft an SEO guide (see my LinkedIn portfolio). This position was vital in increasing my knowledge of of Search Engine Optimization.

Employed as the sole IT administrator for insideRight iMedia. Responsible for tech support for 80+ web sites. Performed updates as needed to sites, assisted in the design of new sites and handled all technical difficulties, ongoing maintenance and client interaction for sites built or maintained by insideRight iMedia. Utilized a variety of different software to meet these needs, including Adobe Photoshop, Dreamweaver, mySQL databases, CuteHTML and CuteFTP. Was part of the team that created the initial design and launched http://www.caddyforacure.com (a website where professional golfers auction off the right for the winner of an eBay bidding process to caddie for them during a practice round of a major golf tournament).

Part of a team that provided Network Control Center (NCC) Help Desk support for over three thousand users and $10 million in small computer, printer and network assets on McChord AFB in Washington state, in support of the 62nd Airlift Wing, 446th Airlift Wing, and the Western Air Defense Sector. Also a member of a smaller team that installed cryptographic devices and maintained the secure network on base. Held an interim top secret security clearance for the duration of this position.

Cedar Rapids, Iowa Area

As a night-shift Systems Operator for Global Crossing, provided first tier phone support for all internal and external customers of our 24x7 call processing platform. Was responsible for overseeing nightly backups and ensuring the smooth operation of the platform and all alarm systems. Promoted after nine months to daytime Systems Administror. Was the youngest person in the company to hold this position by a decade. As a Systems Administrator my primary responsibilities included creating technical documentation, administering and upgrading our HP-UX and Sun Solaris servers and creating custom perl scripts to interface with our Sybase databases. Gained experience in designing, diagramming, rolling out and maintaining enterprise-scale networks. Acquired my HP-UX System Administrator certification during this time. Worked with numerous specialized software suites, including HP Openview for network monitoring. Created, updated and modified korn, shell and Perl scripts on a daily basis. Participated in planning sessions for deploying the first iteration of Active Directory in our environment.
