- Manage and lead Corporate Accounting team in completing day-to-day accounting functions, as well as monthly internal reporting, for Corporate accounts and ensuring proper Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404 and US GAAP compliance (cash, prepaids, intercompany loans, 3rd party debt, interest rate hedges, capital & operating leases, accruals, deferred revenue, deferred gains, asset sales, cost allocations, intangible assets, goodwill)- Work directly with Divisional Accounting teams in Brussels, Singapore, & Miami, as well as various other international regions, to ensure proper and consistent US GAAP accounting is performed globally for Corporate entities- Oversee accounting performed by third party vendor, Aon, for Starwood’s captive insurance company- Responsible for closing the general ledger within four business days on a monthly basis and posting and reviewing all foreign currency revaluation for North America- Review and approve 400+ balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis and participate quarterly on the Independent Review Board of balance sheet reconciliations- Perform forecast to actual variance analysis of Corporate SG&A and flux analysis of balance sheet accounts for Board of Directors reports and management internal reporting package on a quarterly basis- Prepare and review technical accounting memos for unusual and/or significant transactions (asset sales, new leases, new debt, insurance accounting for natural disasters, management estimates)- Update and review Corporate Finance Policies on an annual basis- Collaborate with Financial Reporting team to ensure accurate 10-Q and 10-K reporting, as well as oversee financial reporting and statutory audits for the captive insurance company and Starwood Associate Relief Fund - Nominee for Q1 2015 Partners in Excellence Award for outstanding performance in teamwork and leadership skills- Nominee for 2016 CFO Experience Award (top honor in the Company for Finance personnel) for outstanding performance
