I'm an art director. However, the job has always involved many skills such as developing strategies, graphic design and copywriting to organizing and overseeing photography, illustration, printing, digital or film production. I enjoy it all and believe the entire process is crucial to the success of the final work.I make things. Early in my career this usually meant print, glossy brochures, magazine advertisements, branding and promotional campaigns galore. There was no internet then but we made do.I've produced work for entrepreneurial startups while at smaller creative shops and national television campaigns for international brands during my time at large agencies in New York, Chicago and London. I'm a creative soul doing what the job calls for.Recently I've settled back in Ohio and run a graphic design and commercial art studio. We have an old-fashioned letterpress printing shop as well. But now the internet, digital and social media are the main marketing tools and allow our teams to continue to work for companies all over the world.Actually, things have changed very little. Creatively solving problems, using the best methods possible, for clients, businesses, publications and products is what I've always had the pleasure to do.
