The Mindfulness Initiative is a policy institute that grew out of a mindfulness teaching programme for politicians in the British Parliament. It has provided the secretariat to the UK All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Mindfulness since its formation in 2014. The Mindfulness initiative has since helped to introduce mindfulness training to a further 10 legislatures around the world. Following the groundbreaking policy report Mindful Nation UK, published on behalf of the Mindfulness APPG in 2015, the initiative has produced a series of landmark briefings and reports that have helped shaped the narrative around the development of inner capacities in public life globally. • Elected to represent 24,000 students in a cross-campus ballot against 9 other candidates that saw nearly 5000 students vote.• Full-time position as head of ‘The Best Student Union of the Year 2004’, with a turnover of just under £10 million and 600 staff.• Oversaw a management restructure, a marketing department review and an HR department review.• Responsible for community and media relations, giving regular interviews to local and national media.• Lobbied local and national government in the interest of students.
