I teach undergraduate and graduate courses in educational foundations. My primary and supportive research is in the areas of politics of education and the history of education. My primary research is how various ideologies, belief paradigms, and sociopolitical psychology impact the acquisition of knowledge in teacher education programs; included in this work is an examination of how right-leaning political actors work to undermine public K-16 education, social justice reforms, and critical theoretical perspectives.

Prior to joining the Georgia Air National Guard, I had experience in both the Army National Guard and the U.S. Naval Reserves. I retired with a total of 24 years military experience.
