Used Mimics software to edit CT scans of veterinary patients in order to create 3D images of the bones of interest which were converted to STL files. The purpose was to print bone models using a variety of different 3D printers in the Additive Manufacturing and Logistics laboratory of the Industrial and Systems Engineering department and to determine the accuracy of the low-cost machines in comparison to the high-cost machines.To determine the accuracy of the low-cost printers, operation of the FARO arm laser scanner was done to make new 3D images of the printed models using Geomagic Studio software. Specific anatomical measurements were made on each new 3D image using 3-Matic software which was used to make comparisons.Published research paper to the American Journal of Veterinary Research (AJVR) on July 30, 2017.
