I qualified as a Solicitor in 2012 after taking the training route as a Legal Executive through the City of Bristol College and Legal Practice Certificate at UWE Bristol. My work as a Legal Executive began by working in a large remortgage team and now as a Solicitor I handle my own caseload of residential freehold and leasehold conveyancing. After graduating from City University with a degree in management and systems I worked on the implementation of a TQM (Total Quality Management) project with BS5750 / ISO9000 in a company that was split between traditional print services, and data management for the automotive industry. This job helped me develop strong interpersonal skills as I had to document and audit the procedures and processes for the entire company and achieve compliance to the ISO standards. I also sat on and contributed to meetings with the senior managers to implement the TQM project. Successful ISO 9001 accreditation for the print side of the business was achieved in 1995 shortly before I changed to a career in IT.I began software development using COBOL on mainframe computers and moved on to a development and support role on PCs. This was to provide in-house programming and support on site, and also telephone support to the countrywide salesforce. My experience in projects that required attention to detail to meet strictly defined standards, and that needed the ability to talk to people at all levels were an asset in this role.As a Solicitor, this background has been a real advantage in delivering legal advice and services to people at such a stressful time in their lives. My background in IT has also been put to use in the programming of the case management software in use at the companies I have worked for to improve the efficiency and quality of service. Please contact me at jamie.cook@willans.co.ukSpecialties: Residential conveyancingEquity Release
