I am a senior leader, policy expert and communicator, with over 15 years experience in the voluntary sector and a passion for improving the world. As Head of Policy & Communications at Enable, I am honoured to work for a vibrant, growing, impactful social business, committed to creating an equal society where everyone has the right to live, work and participate as active and respected citizens in the communities of their choice. My role is never dull or repetitive, working across a range of crucial policy streams and ensuring that our impact and values are shared for maximum impact in wider society.Across my career I have delivered major projects in civic engagement, social and economic policy, and systems change. Research which I have published has driven policy change across the world. As a global leader in the basic income movement, I have developed global networks for change; hosted major international conferences; and worked with policy leaders across the world. I was part of the group who created the Glasgow-Pittsburgh Sister City relationship, and have a passion for post-industrial communities and the space for impact they offer the world. I work with governments, businesses, charities, academia, communities and civil society and love the creative sparks which arise when different groups, voices and experiences are brought together.I was a member of the US State Department's International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) in 2023, focused on Sustainable Cities, and remain a State Department Alumni. I am a member of the Young Academy of Scotland; the 1783 President's Club of Glasgow Chamber of Commerce; a Fellow of the RSA; and a TEDx Speaker.#Enable #Leadership #Policy #Research #Inclusion #Networks #BasicIncome #Cities #PostIndustrialCommunities #InclusiveGrowth #Scotland #IVLP #Business #Networks #Communications #Strategy #Membership #VoluntarySector #Design #SocialJustice #USA #Global #FRSA #YAS
