Responsible for the planning, execution and governance of the Adour LPT Blade Programme and two BR710 defence projects in Bristol.• Established the programme scope, structure, accountabilities, organisation and governance in a period of change and uncertainty. Identified the interdependencies between different work packages. As a result was able to identify the critical tasks and set the priorities for the teams. Despite problems, delivered a critical engine test in order to resolve a significant customer issue.• When faced with an unexpected problem with the telemetry unit, formed and led a multi-disciplinary team to redesign, manufacture, assemble and test the new unit in order to prevent a significant delay to the programme.• Overcame significant ambiguity by negotiating with and influencing technical experts in order to agree the production blade implementation and verification strategy. As a result the project budget and resource requirements could be agreed with the programme director.• Identified and then escalated a key project risk regarding test bed facilities and resources. As a result a programme of work was funded to convert a test bed to run several engine types and therefore resolve the issue.• Simplified the certification strategy for the Marshal Aerospace BR710 Defence application by challenging the requirements and gaining agreement for the update approach from the customer.
Component Iptl
Component Integrated Project Team Leader (IPTL) for various fans and compressors sub system components on the BR700NG and the Trent 7000 engine programmes.• Resolved several technical issues and proposed new strategy for flight test in order to deliver the design definition and hardware for the Trent 7000 Mount Ring and Fan Outlet Guide Vane.• Successfully planned for and delivered 12 sets of development and production standard hardware to support the BR700NG Engine Development Programme.• Worked with supplier and multi-disciplinary engineering teams to improve manufacturing quality resulting in the reduction of concession line items by 90%.
Design Engineer
Design Engineer for a variety of components within the compressor sub system of various defence and civil gas turbine engines.• Led a multi-disciplinary team to design the BR700NG Fan Outlet Guide Vane to achieve a 40% cost saving relative to the previous design.• Worked as part of the design team to successfully redesign a composite LiftSystem component in order to remove an aircraft operating restriction.
Graduate Engineer
