● Direct all R&D Engineering efforts for the Clocks division of FTS while retaining Individual Contributor responsibilities, resulting in robust designs and on-time projects.● Responsible for $4.6MM operating budget, with products generating >$50MM in revenue.● Champion R&D Business Unit and provide emergent technology analysis for Executive Long-Term Strategic Planning.● Direct an organization of 25 R&D Electrical, Software, and Mechanical Engineers with a diverse level of backgrounds, skill sets, and expertise.● Provide leadership for and mentor junior engineers on electrical and system design using engineering best practices. This has resulted in a measurable improvement on development KPIs such as design escapes and project change requests. ● Principal Engineer on the Cesium Frequency Standard development project with responsibilities including schematics; drawings; simulations and documentation; environmental, safety, and regulatory compliance; and NPI activities.● Resolve design challenges due to obsolescence, and supply chain shortages. ● Perform failure mode analysis.● Analyze large clock data sets for future product and test system improvements.● Provide strategic focus for the development of the world’s most precise frequency standardsActive engineering role in projects including atomic clock development, evaluation boards, test sets, and sustaining engineering. Activities include system design, schematic capture, layout design, firmware development, and documentation.
