It's a “City" gig so although not referred to as a Technical "Director" each one on our team does almost exactly this job (in theatrical terms) for several venues within the municipality of Mississauga. Directly supporting with in-house equipment (or coordinating external rentals) all celebrations and events at Celebration Square including NIPD, Canada Day, NYE (+14,000 attendees) and multiple cultural festivals. Coordinating community and touring shows who utilise the Meadowvale Theatre, Living Arts Centre and all events which require a broadcast team for coverage at Paramount Fine Foods Centre. As requested assistance offered to facilitate installations & activities at city Museums.

Challenged to manage all aspects of scheduling and support for the entertainment department. Direct report to the Hotel Director. Create onboard activities with direct input and collaboration with the Cruise Director. Lead the entertainment direct reports (cast, musicians, and technicians) in all matters from operations to human resources as per SOPs. Act as primary onboard contact for all fly-in guest entertainers. Act as Primary Entertainment Department contact for all conferences, charters and conventions onboard the vessel. **Highlights included brand partnerships with Oprah Winfrey and the O Magazine, along with James Suckling for HAL wine selections.Responsibilities include scheduling, logistics, and operations of multiple venues ranging from an 860-seat proscenium theatre to a 300-seat America's Test Kitchen / BB King's Blues Club.Managing supply, repair and inventory stock levels for lighting, audio, broadcast, automation and rigging departments.Liaise with other entertainment department management to ensure necessary time is allotted in daily programming for rehearsals, preventative maintenance, and safe operations.Produce and maintain human resource documentation with regards to evaluation of entertainment staff. Provide both positive and corrective feedback and coaching as necessary to maintain the original artistic direction of performances.Act as primary point of contact for guest entertainers (non-in-house production staff).Manage and audit the safety of all performers, technicians and stage crew whilst carrying out their duties. Working directly with several Award-winning Chilean Vineyards and selling their wonderful line of wines to Passengers and visiting ships.After opening the Wine Outlet in 2007 our sales garnered the attention of exclusive award-winning vineyards. We enjoyed direct relationships with companies who consecutively win over 90 points with Wine Spectator and James Suckling, to family-owned vineyards which can only be found in exclusive boutique outlets & fine restaurants. During various international trade shows (www.exponaval.cl) we were invited to present Chilean wines and also to provide gifts for presenters. The interaction with traveling foreigners and exceptional people who share a passion for wine always made this position very rewarding!

These services have been an extension of our Cruise Terminal services, however onsite when requested by visiting military vessels or via the Embassy Attache. We have coordinated short-term housing rentals, various tours, and wine tastings/sales.For the last 8 years, our primary service has been onboard / alongside wine tastings. Sales when allowed by the Master of the Vessel to both Officers and Enlisted ship's company. This includes delivery alongside. Launching and Creating a balance for the combined position of Event Producer and Technical Director was an interesting 6-month challenge. Event Producing for concerts and shows from initial ideas & concepts, through to actual onsite show management. Assisted with the overall installation of new theatrical productions for new build launches. Ran theatrical productions each evening in the main 1200 seat venue. Worked closely during installs with Poet Theatricals ( https://poet.co/poet-marine/ ) onboard the Eclipse and Silhouette ships. Weekly I was in constant communication with entertainment agents in England and various acts as they joined and left the vessels. Weekly creating shipwide venue itineraries for technical support for a diversified selection of live entertainment. These contracts were typically from 4 to 7 months long and dedicated myself to being away from family and home. My onboard family and team was multi-national and culturally based - creating a fantastic enviroment to be creative while travelling the world.

Initially, this little Crew Centre (based on service needs for seafarer's and crew/officers visiting on any ships in Chile) over time grew from the Internet and International Call Centres into a full-on restaurant and event centre. Over the years we gained additional locations via franchising and went to the southern ports of Chile and into Argentina. As technology requirements adapted we receeded back to the main busy port of Valparaiso. Here we offered a busy menu for all local port offices for lunch and after office parties. On many days we had crew services open from 8am until 3am. Whether crew were in port from a merchant, cruise, scientific or military vessels we were typically their first and last stops when shore leave was granted. After the building was affected by earthquakes we closed the doors and moved inside the Valparaiso Cruise Terminal.

Worked initially in French shipyard while Serenity vessel was in final phases of construction.Installed new theatrical productions including Forever Plaid from Broadway. During first months at sea primary duty was operating audio for main theatre musical productions.Scheduling technical staff, payroll for technical staff and additional staff from various departments.Completing warranty claims, reinstallation of repaired and or missing equipment from launch date.

Primary work was as audio engineer on performances and scheduling technical crew.During dry dock refits I worked as technical onboard liaison with shoreside technicans for maintenance projects. During normal contracts while working with the Engineering Deptartment, ordering and installation of new equipment, Always was the management of time schedules and budgets at the forefront of our weekly duties.

The BC Network was an original internet tourism portal company. The Network had acquired most names for cities and communities for all of Western Canada. (ie, www.kamloops.com, Kelowna.com) I was tasked with creating a sales force to showcase revenue based tourism business'​ in BC. In under 10 months my sales team had multiple community portals hosting accomodations, restaurants, events, etc. The companies which had been introduced to this internet business framework received healthy ROI's for their online memberships.

The company serviced trade shows, festivals and special events in most communities of BC. My duties included budgeting, design, crew scheduling /training, and management of installations. Our clients varied from corporate, government, and stadium sized retail trade shows. Our community clients ranged from Summer fairs, Canada Day celebrations ( all tenting and stage support), international sporting events ( all draping and show support for teams and media). We provided everything from standard trade show services to complete themed events including theatrical dinner theatre productions.

This was the initial launch of a theatrical technical program for the College. The focus was to provide undergraduate students (primarily English teachers) the credits required for potential positions as Drama Instuctors in schools.I created the course outline as per Provincial requirements. The English department at that time produced two shows, one each term which the students in this course had to provide all aspects of technical support.

This festival was at the time the 2nd largest after the original in Scotland. The festival requires different types of technicians for the various styles and types of performances offered during the 10 day festival. Due to my theatrical background I was always placed in venues which were required to support the larger performances. This was a typical intense three week festival including set ups, installations and tear down.
