Over the course of a substantial career in the emergency services sector, I have developed my professional practice to include design and implementation of training programs to build leadership, incident management and hazard management capabilities for fireline personnel, in support of government bodies such as the Country Fire Authority (CFA), State Emergency Services (SES), Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning, and municipalities.I have been at the forefront of a number of major strategic and cultural initiatives, and with a demonstrable track record leading critical operations, I have focused on re-creating culture amongst fire crews by implementing new leadership and training programs. In particular, my dynamic approach to regular training includes shifting training and development from a check-list methodology to one based on managing hazards for emerging situations. I have also led the local brigade to become more community-oriented.
