The Air Force Quality Assurance manager directs, develops and implements company policies utilizing a variety of administrative, analytical, and technical methods and techniques to insure the quality and reliability of products. The scope of activities involved for the Air Force Quality Assurance function is responsible to ensure a product or service that meets the established standards of quality including reliability, usability and performance. Also ensures compliance and standards are maintained to industry standards. Along with analyzing and interpreting policies and guidelines while assessing business processes. Inspection, by physical test or measurement of the product, is but one of the techniques applied by quality assurance manager. In the context of quality assurance work, tests and measurements at various points in the production cycle: provide objective evidence as to the effectiveness of quality procedures and controls; identify potential problem areas or inherent weaknesses in the product itself, the technical data, materials, or manufacturing processes; and serve as a basis for adjusting surveillance or control over operations.

The Air Force unit deployment manager's responsibility is to conduct all administrative functions for troops that are deployed to accomplish the Air Force mission in peace or wartime scenarios. This entails the organizing and scheduling training to prepare military personnel for overseas deployments, also developing building training materials for individual training and assessments.A deployment manager is also responsible for the accounting and deployment of logistical items and equipment for Air Force operations. The deployment manager acts as a liaison between other Air Force units that have mobility designations for health assessment of troops and individual medical readiness databases to ensure that unit troops have updated immunization records.

The unit accomplishes the Compass Call mission, providing vital capabilities in the realm of electronic warfare for the Air Force and are poised for immediate deployment to specific theater contingencies. The unit’s combat mission is to support tactical air, ground and naval operations by confusing the enemy’s defenses and disrupting its command and control capabilities.The squadron flies the EC-130H aircraft, a specially configured version of the Air Force’s proven C-130 transport. To execute its unique missions, the aircraft were modified with electronic countermeasures systems, specialized jamming equipment, the capability to aerial refuel, as well as upgraded engines and avionics. Modifications made to the aircraft vary between the two squadrons, to help each squadron meet its specific mission-oriented needs.
