Global change leader and talent strategist for the risk and compliance function for Amazon’s Talent Acquisition (ATA) organization. Selling Partner Support (customer service operations for Amazon Sellers and Vendors) Global Program Leader for contact centers expansions and optimizations. Was responsible for opening and closing of contact centers (virtual and brick and mortar) concerning real estate, employee relations, tax, and legal/regulatory obligations; establishing Seller/Vendor Support tools and services for new marketplace expansions (Amazon.nl, etc.); and building market intelligence and network footprint strategies to ensure contact centers were in the right locations to meet employee attraction and retention needs, demands of future marketplace expansions, and in the right modality (virtual or brick and mortar) for operational efficiency.

As Amazon's first global immigration counsel, I provided strategic guidance and direction to the teams at Amazon that supported immigration: Immigration Operations, Work Authorization, HR Risk and Compliance, and Public Policy. I advised on short and long-term business travel and advocated for advanced mobility strategies, enterprise wide.

As Amazon's immigration compliance leader, I safeguarded Amazon's ability to sponsor and retain top talent globally. I monitored, inspected and ensured that our global program met immigration compliance requirements. As a member of Amazon's Global Expansion, Mergers & Acquisitions team (GEMA), I managed immigration compliance activities for newly-created and acquired entities. I guided and advised on short and long-term business travel compliance.

Provided legal and strategic U.S. immigration counsel to HR, Staffing, and Microsoft businesses worldwide. Supported the immigration needs of foreign-national employees and their families, in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment. Brought casework from a service provider in-house for monitoring and production, reducing costs to the business and ensuring excellent customer service to impacted employees. Managed the implementation of new immigration processes and policy changes, and effectively communicating changes to the foreign national employee population.

Represented clients in the agricultural, automotive, automotive supplier, biotechnology, cement, chemical, computer, devices and services, financial, higher education, and medical device fields. Counselled clients on developing immigration policies and complying with Form I-9, E-Verify, and H-1B public inspection file regulations and requirements. Managed the daily caseload of paralegals, including reviewing their work and mentoring them on immigration regulations and procedures. Performed legal research and identified appropriate laws, judicial decisions, legal articles, and government memoranda to ensure client compliance in immigration and employment law matters.
