Other subjects covered were leadership, communication skills, strategic studies and military history. I found the demands of this appointment, both physically and academically, to have aided me professionally in terms of its unique leadership, problem solving and management training. My military career, even in a reserve capacity, has provided a unique depth of expertise and skills which is not readily offered by civilian engineering practices.
