I am an experienced leader in policing having attained the rank of Detective Inspector. I am passionate about creating an inclusive workforce and have a keen interest in finding innovative ways to improve service delivery. I have recently been the Detective Inspector in charge of Domestic Abuse Investigation teams in North Essex. Since December 2021 I have been the Cyber DI in the NFIB, City of London police, managing the Cyber Review and Preventions and Disruptions teams.I have been a police officer since 2004, obtaining promotion to Sergeant in 2012 and Inspector in 2018. I have worked in community policing, policy development, domestic abuse investigations, stop and search reform, Gypsy and Traveller liaison and Digital policing on secondment to the Home Office in 2016/17. I have also undertaken a number of reviews and project work.I was the Chair person of the Essex Police Disability and Carers network (internal staff support network) until October 2021 and have previously been the General Secretary of the Disabled Police Association. I am also an Ambassador for PurpleSpace (www.purplespace.org) working with the amazing Kate Nash OBE and contributing to Purplespace publications.As an expert in disability in policing I have consulted and advised the Home Office and NPCC on the development of the Limited Duties Regulations and have represented disabled officers across the country in a number of capacities, including as a keynote speaker at the Police Federation of England and Wales national conference.In 2019 I won the Essex Police award for promoting Equality and Diversity.
