About Jamie Morrall
I am heavily invested in the sports media landscape and have high aspirations of pursuing a career in this field. In 2021 I founded a successful mobile catering business at 18 y/o. My roles include Managing Director and Creative Director, responsible for videos accumulating over 10 million views and 1 million likes over various social media platforms, which collectively boast over 60,000 followers. Our clients and relationships include: Gymshark, Tesla, LadBible, Gozney, Audi. Working with such established businesses whilst being a student has meant I’ve gained valuable insights beyond my years.Alongside these responsibilities, I achieved numerous high accolades at school including Full Colours and a Headmaster’s Commendation for both co-curricular and charitable efforts. These are endeavours I have continued to embrace since moving to university, where I was voted President of my rugby club, and was inspired to complete various physical challenges in the name of men’s mental health.I graduated from the University of Nottingham with a 2:1 in July 2024, following a First (75%) in my dissertation, which focussed on podcasting. Following this achievement, I look forward to completing my Master of Arts in Sports Journalism this academic year, where I hope to further broaden my knowledge of all things sports media.

This year, I've honed crucial journalism skills as a part of University Radio Nottingham, hosting and producing diverse and enticing sports related content. Conducting interviews with established sports players and scripting radio shows have developed my storytelling abilities, laying a solid foundation for a hopeful career in sports journalism.I co-hosted the University of Nottingham's only rugby podcast and show, 'Scrum Fly With Me'. I’ve interviewed professional rugby players, covered BUCS Super Rugby games live, and held insightful podcast episodes with the university rugby club's welfare secretaries, where we discussed topics such as mental health in sport. My personal highlight of my time on the radio society however was hosting varsity ice hockey, a fierce rivalry between UoN and NTU, in front of a sold out 10,000 capacity Motorpoint Arena. Working in a “live event” environment such as this one was exhilarating, and a day I look back on with fond memories.I have loved my journey with URN, and am thankful for the opportunities to progress my journalistic skills over the past year.
