Gas mains replacement program (Major Works South East)

Primarily an emergency based role as a first response service to customers in a time of need in potentially dangerous gas situations. Using dynamic risk assessment skills and a methodical approach to ensure the upmost standard of safety and professionalism is executed. Key situational awareness ability towards customers needs and vulnerability adopting responsibility of life and property in critical times.Inter departmental communication along with key stakeholders to provide a clear plan and execution approach to the ever changing and adapting workplace location. Cross flexible duties to meet business requirements utilising core skills developed in the field whilst participating in an emergency call out rota.Leading by example within a health and safety champion role, adhering to industry standard procedures and Engaging with business peers to provide a continuous improvement plan including an “Everyone home safe and well” mentality towards the working environment including the general public.Experience with the remedial and upgrading work of network assets including, but not limited to the installation and repairs of gas mains and services, Leakage surveys, Excavations in the highways and public areas, Building site work, Installation and exchange of domestic gas meters and project based activities.

As a Tablet Manufacturing Technician at GSK i was involved first hand in the production of Augmentin antibiotics. I managed machine operations in a powder compression room consisting of the receiving of raw ingredients which was precisely measured out following Standard Operation Procedures and the insertion of the ingredients into the machinery for pre-compaction ready for tablet compression. The job required working in strict clinical conditions maintaining machinery settings and filling out required batch data as well as tablet coating, inspection and a high standard of pharmaceutical cleaning.

Cetacean Research & Rescue Unit or (CRRU) is a Scottish charity on the coast of the Moray Firth which dedicates it’s time to the conservation and protection of marine mammals, Specifically dolphins and whales. I was given the opportunity to volunteer for the charity as a field researcher and was trained to help collect data for scientific study. I took groups of 5-6 people out on a small research Boat to track down Cetaceans and collect information on their behavior, Take ID photographs and then uploaded the data including the boats GPS and animal tracking device to computers. I gained a qualification in powerboat level 2 NPC after more than 150 hours offshore driving.
