Jamie has an outstanding, long-term track record of investing in Emerging Markets equities. His numerous relationships with executives across Emerging Markets; and, in particular, in Latin America, developed over thirty years, bring unique opportunities to interview important decision-makers about the prospects of their businesses as well as the prospects of the countries they operate in.His passion for emerging markets stems from his Peace Corps service in Paraguay in 1993-95, where he gained a deep understanding of the development challenges and opportunities in the region after developing a potable running water system for a rural community of 1,500 people who did not have access to clean water. His experience there was one of his most important life moments and one that still guides him today, aside the fundamental values and principles of acting as a sound fiduciary for clients.

Jamie helped build a potable running water system in a rural community of 1,500 people that did not have clean water before. He educated the community on the health benefits of aquifer-supplied water over shallow polluted wells and raised money from the U,S. Agency of Internation Development to help pay for the drilling and construction. 100% of the residents gained access to potable water in 1995.Jamie also founded an agro-industrial cooperative with $75,000 of seed capital. He helped teach the local cassava farmers how to make high-quality starch and export into MercoSur (Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay).
