Responsible for writing incident investigation reports into serious pollutions, summarising the details of the incident and identifying event learning actions to prevent similar incidents reoccurring. Also responded to EA prosecution cases of serious pollutions, which could be linked to £multi-million fines. Wrote statements for interviews under caution, briefed senior managers, and dealt with complex information requests. Further to this, explored alternative options to prosecution, including working with external charities on Enforcement Undertaking proposals.

Managed response to customer complaints in North London Waste Networks, prioritising works and ensuring completion to enable a successful outcome for the customer. This involved conducting customer visits to make sure customer expectations were fully understood. Responsible for closing some of the longest-standing complaints.Conducted root cause analysis on complaints to identify common themes. Used this data to create a training pack which I delivered to field staff to help drive down the number of incoming complaints.Also involved as a note taker in a disciplinary hearing, interviewed candidates for vacancy, conducted health and safety audits and participated in monthly finance meetings to ensure spending was controlled.

Interpreted inspection reports and inputted data into specialist software which formed risk assessments (Drinking Water Safety Plans) for service reservoirs, key parts of the drinking water supply infrastructure. These were submitted to the Drinking Water Inspectorate on a monthly basis.At the time of my joining, there was a significant backlog in submission of these reports. By end of placement, completed 120 reports, ensuring all submissions were up to date.

Investigated poor performance of field monitoring equipment. Involved liaising with field staff to understand their requirements, other water companies to understand their methodology, and external equipment providers to determine alternative options. Also designed and conducted experiments to interrogate reasons behind poor performance. Additionally, reported key performance (Balanced Score Card) and health and safety metrics to laboratory managers monthly. From this, identified trends where improvements could be made to create a safer working environment and create efficiencies in performance.During COVID lockdowns, took part in the 2.6 challenge to raise money for UK charities. As part of this, I designed and ran a virtual quiz for over 60 colleagues, and raised over £500.

During my two years on the graduate programme, I rotated through four 6-month placements. This greatly expanded my overall understanding of the business, and required extremely quick learning on the job so I could add value to my teams.Reviewed pollution incidents to extract key learning points and relay these to the relevant teams to prevent reoccurrences. Also ensured the categorisation of severity by the Environment Agency matched with the internal view, and challenged these if there were discrepancies. Gathered data and conducted root cause analysis on historic pollution incidents for the Pollution Incident Reduction Plan. My information was used to drive insight and target interventions in the most effective way to improve the company's environmental performance.

Following dissertation project, offered a position by supervisor researching Crop Wild Relatives which have the potential to improve crops. I collated and interrogated data from various sources including online databases, literature and species experts, and compiled this into threat assessments which are published on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species, the global standard for assessments of extinction risk. These assessments can be used to determine priority areas for targeting conservation efforts.

Worked at summer schemes with children aged 6-18 with learning disabilities. Supervised at day schemes and on excursions. This involved developing creative solutions to entertain children and avoid potential conflicts. As a result, children had positive experiences and I received regular positive feedback from parents.

Participated in summer internship in Research and Development office of the Medical and Dental Products Division. Gathered feedback from clients on products which were under development, compiled this feedback into reports and presented my findings to the rest of the team. These changes were implemented and the products are now available to the market. Other roles included researching areas of expansion for the division and testing new products to ensure they met required parameters.
