CurrentI have more than twenty-five years of experience representing employers throughout California in labor and employment matters. I defend employers, executives and supervisors in state and federal lawsuits filed by current and former employees for wrongful termination, sexual harassment, discrimination, wage and contract disputes, and employment-related torts. In addition, I have represented employers before the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, National Labor Relations Board, California Department of Fair Employment and Housing and the California Division of Labor Standards and Enforcement. I advise employers on the full range of labor and employment issues. In employment matters, I provide counsel on all aspects of human resources management, including discipline and termination, leaves of absence, layoffs, wage and hour requirements, employee classification, discrimination, commission plans, employment contracts, privacy, social media usage, and employee policies. In labor matters, I work with employers to address unfair labor practice charges and arbitration under collective bargaining agreements. I train supervisors and management on a variety of issues, such as implementation of new personnel policies, sexual harassment, diversity, leaves of absence, opposing union organizing activity, workplace safety and employee privacy rights. I also conduct and advises on sensitive workplace investigations.
