I was contracted to carry out research on a RCUK (Digital Economy) funded project called SerenA. I joined the team on a short term contract (8 months) to assist with the design and development of an Android Mobile phone application. During the summer of 2008 is was hired by NCR to work on a cutting edge fingerprint biometrics project for ATMs and other self service automated devices. My job was to design an interface to help increase the success rate of the fingerprint device. My job was to explore a range of different ideas then test and compare the new methods to determine which worked well.The job required me to have good communication skills as I was working in a team of working professionals. The team consisted of 2 developers and HCI specialist and Me (Designer).
