When I started with OfficeMax (formerly Boise Cascade Corporation, then Boise Office Solutions) I was an admin. in the Inventory Management Dept. I was in charge of updating order status by contacting vendors to get shipping information and then entering information into OfficeMax's system. I worked with two buying teams. I then was promoted to Purchasing Specialist and worked closely with a National Purchasing Specialist as well as our vendors to execute fill in buys, warehouse-to-warehouse transfers and negotiate returns. In May of 2001 I secured a postion with the Bids & Contracts Department as a Bid Specialist. We worked with the sales representatives and vendors to cross reference product lists that were being bid on and to provide pricing and pricing scenarios. I moved to the Miami location in September of 2002 and was an admin. at the location. I provided sales support, worked with customers to set them up to order online and trained them on how to order online. I also worked with local National Acct's team to ensure that set ups for internet use were done according to rules for each account. I transferred back to Chicago/Headquarters location in September of 2003 and worked as Bid Specialist in Bids & Contracts Dept. I was then promoted to Lead Specialist which included same responsabilites as Bid Specialist but focused on High Profile bids and working with Supervisors to ensure work flow was completed accurately and efficiently. In October of 2005 I was promoted to a Supervisor within the Contract Bids and Services Dept. (this is the larger department that Bids & Contracts was a part of). This was a new position over a new department, Database Maintenance. I was in charge of ensuring the accuracy of the information within the database that is used by the Contract Bids and Services Dept. I resigned my position in July of 2006 to stay home with my son.
