I'm a former Mouseketeer with a tonne of industry experience - predominantly in Kids TV and content strategy - and also more recently in programming acquisitions in the Kids sphere, DEI specialising in LGBT+, and beyond. I pride myself on being a pleasure to work with, for, and to manage and I'm acutely aware of how you can better catch flies with honey than vinegar in terms of doing inter- and intra-company business. We may have different - even competing - objectives, but that doesn't mean we can't work constructively to find a solution which benefits us all. I'm a skilled negotiator, persuasive presenter, I love collaborating with diverse voices to create something stronger than the sum of its parts. While in my most recent role as Kids and DEI Acquisitions Senior Manager I didn't have any direct reports (bar our excellent interns), prior to that I was happiest when leading people, specifically a team of ten, priding myself on being an inspirational manager: always ready to elevate, grow and celebrate my reports' successes. I miss those days =) Mental Health is also very important to me: I personally have been blessed to have not suffered too badly (apart from those dark pandemic days!) but my training with Mental Health First Aid and my naturally empathetic outlook has enabled me to support peers and direct reports in the past. Diversity and representation are very important to me. As a member of an historically-repressed minority, I feel we have a responsibility to look our for each other and crucially, in our industry, make sure everyone gets a chance to see themselves on whichever screen they happen to be spending their spare time. I'm very proud of acquisitions I have made and the volunteer work I've done both as a member of Business Resource Groups (as a member and as an ally) and with charities that are dear to my heart. Sadly I was one of the 7000+ redundancies from The Walt Disney Company in late 2023. I've spent the last six months travelling and honing my skills and getting a better understanding of where kids and young adults are in the entertainment space. I'm excited to get back to work and bring my knowledge, passion and warmth to an organisation who would benefit hugely from my expertise.
