PackageRoute is an app that helps optimize operations for last-mile delivery businesses. I worked in all parts of the software stack to scale the app from 0 to 15,000+ daily active users and 1 million+ package deliveries and pickups per day.• Developed data-driven frontend features, using React & React Native.• Optimized performance of mapping features in both web and mobile apps using Mapbox.• Built a real-time integration with a third-party API, broadcasting data to clients every 3-10 min.• Led a database migration from a serverless NoSQL implementation to a REST API based, SQL backed service layer.• Designed a REST API backed by a SQL database to support tens of millions of addresses, locations, and enriched “place” data obtained via in-app features• Leveraged Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform for deployment to ensure horizontal scaling, load balancing, consistent environments, and simplified infrastructure management• Improved development process by building automated deployment pipelines to handle CI/CD for all backend applications

I taught, led, and mentored students of Galvanize's 6-month web development immersive program full-time. Through this experience I bolstered my understanding of the important concepts and tools I learned while going through the program myself.Galvanize teaches full stack web development using JavaScript and leveraging tools such as React, Angular, Node, Express, and PostgreSQL.

Responsible for the management of all Vote Smart programs, research, staff, operations, facilities and administration.-Managed a team of 30 staff and over 75 interns across multiple offices.-Negotiated data licensing contracts with Google, NBC Universal, National Journal, Microsoft (Bing), and others, which added new revenue that amounted to ~10% of the annual budget.

-Managed a team of 9 staff and 30 interns.-Developed and/or improved materials for training of staff and interns in data collection, management, and coding (categorization and tagging), as well as a program for querying a database using PostgreSQL.-Managed product-side development of data entry automation programs, which led to 25% increases in efficiency for two key Vote Smart programs.
