Working across all trading departments, my responsibilities included interviewing job candidates and made staffing decisions. I managed a team of 20-25 General Assistants and was responsible for all legal and mandatory training across my departments. I liaised and assisted with the external stocktake team to ensure accurate biannual stock count. I managed Sales, Waste and Shrinkage in order to achieve increasingly challenging targets. I had running the store duties, regularly being the senior manager on duty . I ensured legal and safe running of 3 high risk departments. I was responsible for scheduling and holiday management across my departments, and also for organising and delivering team meetings and briefings. More recently I have overseen the transfer of my colleagues onto a newly introduced HR system, which moved the majority of the HR clerk responsibilities to the the store supervisor role. I have been responsible for colleague appraisals and supporting with disciplinary procedures.

Working on 5 different departments over the 2 years, I managed a team of 10-20 general assistants in the absence of the department manager. I trained and developed colleagues, and organised colleagues to ensure all daily and weekly tasks complete. During this time, Safeway was taken over by Morrisons, and soon after the store was taken over by Sainsburys.
