Twenty years of experience as a process engineer includes current role in major projects and approximately 2 years as the long term energy engineer, 2 years in process development, 2 years as an environmental engineer covering both FCCU/Alky unit compliance and ownership of the GHG (AB-32) program and 2 years as a process engineer in an operating refinery covering semi-regen catalytic reformers, naphtha hydrotreaters, and a benzene saturation unit. Experience includes process responsibilities including overseeing catalyst change outs during a major unit turnaround and unit monitoring and optimization. Also, nine years of experience as a design engineer working on FEED package development for a Crude and Vacuum Unit capacity expansion and ULSD Diesel Hydrotreater. Detailed engineering experience includes the SZorb sulfur removal technology and UOP HF Alkylation ReVAP (Heritage ConocoPhillips) technology. For the FEED package, assembled a study basis, performed calibration simulations to plant data and subsequent optimization, produced heat & material balances, process flow diagrams, MSDs and P&IDs, created data sheets for pumps, fired heaters, vessels, trays, exchangers, and instruments, and compiled information for miscellaneous summaries. During detailed engineering, developed utility flow diagrams, PSV and relief load calculations, instrument specifications, and provided support for other disciplines. The experience has developed proficiency in use of Microsoft Office Products, SimSci Pro/II and Aspen HYSYS simulations.
