I help business clients navigate the post-Wayfair state and local (SALT) tax waters, exploring business' state and local tax footprint and resolving SALT controversy matters. Tax types we tackle together include sales tax as well as corporate income, franchise, net worth, and gross receipts taxes. Jamie's approach is collaborative and creative. I love using my passion for to serve my clients, taking something off their to-do list so they can get back to focusing on their passion - growing their business. It is a point of pride to help my client understand that while taxes indeed can be complicated, they do not have to be scary, and we can approach solving their SALTy problems together.Prior to joining Brann & Isaacson, I served as Counsel at the Massachusetts Department of Revenue, focusing on complex corporate tax, partnership, and personal income tax appeals. I earned my LL.M. in Taxation and certification in State and Local Tax, both with distinction, from Georgetown University Law Center. Admitted to practice in Massachusetts, Maine, and before the U.S. Supreme Court. As a #Lawmom, I am dedicated to sharing my experiences as a mother pursuing a career full-time in hopes of helping others navigate their own journey. I am passionate about #womensupportingwomen - what we achieve when we lift up one another is nothing short of astounding.Outside of work, I try to stay active. You can often find me hiking through Maine with my family, high-fiving other riders in virtual classes on my spin bike, attempting to practice yoga under the helpful assistance of my daughters and dogs, or in choir rehearsal preparing for an upcoming service. I gave up on reading Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell, but in my quiet moments you'll aways find me buried in a good book, with a nibble of chocolate on the side.
