Along with the Diversity and Accessibility Officer, we presented this Initiative to City Council and received approval and endorsement. By the end of my tenure, almost 75% of the Action Items of the Initiative, including creating an internal Diversity Committee, Employee Resource Groups, and a Workforce Census had been put into place. I analyzed published Diversity and Inclusion Initiatives for long-term care facilities and based the draft for Huron Lodge around this. With input and direction from the Diversity and Accessibility Officer, this draft was published and has begun to be implemented. In addition, I created a set of recommendations for the creation and implementation of the overarching Diversity and Inclusion Initiative for the City of Windsor.During the second half of my internship, I focused on the accessibility of the City's website. I took multiple training courses on creating accessible versions of documents, including PDF remediation with Adobe Acrobat and CommonLook PDF GlobalAccess.
