The Kakehashi Project is a young leadership week long exchange program promoted by Japan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs to expose young people to Japanese society, culture, and politics. As a participant with AJC's ACCESS, I learned about the Jewish community in Japan and engaged with the Japanese political sphere in order to build understanding and bridges for cooperation between young Jewish Americans and Japan; (2) promote Jewish-American understanding of Japan in a variety of fields, including politics, economics, and culture; and (3) empower alumni to be advocates in advancing U.S.-Japan relations in the future.
