Worked as Senior Software Developer, on Canada Life's policy administration system (INGENIUM 5.4) for legislative tax enhancement. Worked with Canada Life's team of Business Analysts, Systems Analyst, Developers for Analyzing the business requirements and modified the INGENIUM programs for “GAIN” , “ACB” calculation and new accounting codes and performed the unit testing.

Worked as Architect/Systems Analyst on Co-op's reverse engineering project “Core Financial system” from Mainframe legacy systems (MVS/COBOL/NATURAL/ADABAS/DB2) to JD Edward EnterpriseOne. Prepared Technical documents for JD Edward's functional mapping from legacy Mainframe system, Data mapping; Strategy for Database Conversion from legacy Database. Developed SQL modules to extract data from legacy systems for data Analysis. Analyzed the COBOL/Natural programs to understand legacy systems functionality to be matched with JD Edward EnterpriseOne Financial. Developed DB2/ADABAS SQL to extract data from legacy and ORACLE SQL to load data to JD Edward ORACLE tables.

Worked on Loblaw's multi-tier system for AR and Wholesale supply-chain consisting of Mainframe, VB client server and Unix box. Work involve was to provide immediate solution to production issue, Analysis the problem or enhancement and writing of Design Documents (SRS, SDS), Development and Unit testing using COBOL, EZtrieve, VSAM, CICS and JCL for Mainframe; Writing, testing and implementation of Unix-Scripts, programs using COBOL, C, Perl, Oracle for Unix; Analysis, writing of RFS and monitoring development (changed/coding were made by VB programmers), testing and implementation of VB scripts. Other than that worked on their IPFR system as Functional Analyst. For JDA Demand and Fulfillment version 7.4.2, based on business users reported issues, analyzed the the problem for root cause and wrote of Solution Documents; for data related issues co-ordinate with input providing systems (legacy/SAP/Data Warehouse) to correct the data, and for bug fix or enhancement worked with JDA experts. For JDA Demand and Fulfillment version 7.7, Prepared and deliver the training to other team members for different functionalities of Demand and Fulfillment, such as Plan-Analysis, Demand Workbench, Master files creation from Data warehouse/SAP input. Developed Oracle and Teradata SQL quiries to analyse the data, suggest changes into extract SQL to NDW. Explained the question from business user regarding systems functionality.

Worked on their centralized tax allocation system (TAS), which is tax allocation system on Segregated Funds for all subsidiaries of London Life used with Insurance based (INGENIUM) or non-insurance based Segregated Funds. Work involve was Analysing and writing of Design Documents, Coding and Unit testing using Object Oriented Development methodology, OO-COBOL, CICS, DB2, Xpediter, File-Aid etc under MVS/TSO.

Analysed the problems/Enhancement and wrote Design Documents, later Developed the program, Unit tested and implementated the Enhancement to Support Tax subsystem on INGENIUM 4.3 using COBOL, CICS, VSAM, Xpediter, Endevor.

Reviewed the Functional Documents, develope and tested datamart for supporting data-warehouse project using COBOL, CICS, JCL, DB2, SPUFI, and SCLM and Test-Director.

As a member of programmers Pool with SOLCORP (an HP company) I have worked on numerous projects with various clients of SOLCORP (within and outside North America) as a Senior Analyst/Programmer to Team Leader. Analysis and Design (Gap Analysis, Requirement analysis for any sub-system for client which is not supported by base INGENIUM, Development, Quality Assurance, Conversion, Support. Cover almost every area for Design and Development of IT business solution. Designed/Modified INGENIUM 6.1 to support 7x24. Developed and tested programs and new process flows. This change was later on incorporated into INGENIUM 6.1.2J. Designed/Developed the flow of information between INGENIUM 6.2 and FundSERV (an external investment system) and ‘Manual Financial Transactions’ sub-system to satisfy FundSERV’s requirements to have transactions entered into INGENIUM during any network problem for this time critical processing of funds. Following is the list some of companees for which I worked during my stat at SOLCORP: Knight of Columbus - adding UNDO/REDO process for policy enhancement (INGENIUM 6.4.1), later this change was incorporated into INGENIUM 6.5.AFLAC’s (an insurance company in Tokyo, Japan), as As a team-leader designed and develop a new ‘Coverage Benefit’ sub-system to satisfy AFLAC’s requirements to have variable benefits at a coverage level for this complex and large scale project (Over 20 million policies). Involved in user acceptance testing, implementation and production support in Tokyo, Japan.Equitable Life (an insurance company in Waterloo) for the migration of purchased block of Term-life and UL policies to INGENIUM.Lutheran Life, to convert thier legacy system to INGENIUM. PREDICA (Paris, France), Analysis, construction, user acceptance testing, implementation and production support of the different phases of this complex project, worked as Team leader for Segregated-fund and Unit based policies.
