Always in pursuit of new insights, ideas, and inspiration, I have moved fluidly and eagerly between various fields of interest throughout my career. The common denominators in each of these fields, and the concepts at the very core of my personality, are: analysis, organization, and critical thinking. While I consider my definition of "ME" to be evolving infinitely, my most abiding goal in life has been to refine these skills in order to solve complex, persistent problems and make life easier for the people around me. At work: -I am a troubleshooter: used linear thinking to determine whether an issue with the pharmacy label maker was related to hardware or software, trace the problem back to the computer holding up the print queue, and get the printer working again. -I recognize patterns: took note of medications dispensed less frequently than others and adjusted inventory orders as necessary, preventing waste. -I plan ahead: created a manual detailing routine laboratory/pharmacy tasks and tips to create a smooth transition for future employees in the department.I have found joy in using data "behind the scenes" on a small scale to enact change in my environment, so I am now pursuing data science and analytics in an effort to work with data on a larger scale (with particular interests in veterinary medicine, healthcare, physical science, and language). Every day, I am amazed by the massive amounts of data we generate and the potential we have to give it life through context, structure, and analysis. --Most memorable experiences (and what they have taught me):-Moved to Japan in 2017: I am insane! ...
