Since childhood, I have used my leadership and organizational skills to improve any community that I was lucky enough to be a part of. After becoming a mother, I channeled my passion for community into improving circumstances for children and families. It occurred to me that when I have access to tools and information that support me in raising my family, I feel most empowered. And when I feel empowered, I take action to empower others. For the past 16 years that I have been a parent, I have embarked on a mission to have a stronger voice in decisions that impact my child and community. Many times along my parenting journey, other parents have called on me to support them in their battles, assist them in finding resources, and connect them to others with similar circumstances. In other words, parents look to me to lead them, empower them, and advocate for them. In the process of supporting other parents, I made a decision along with the most amazing thought partner to co-found an organization that provides tools and resources to empower parents to advocate for themselves, their families, and their community and in turn grow to lead and support other parents in doing the same. That is how Parent Impact was born.Parent Impact is a non-profit organization working to create opportunities where parents are partners and leaders in their communities.
