I serve as a Special Assistant Attorney General (SAAG) Associate for the DeKalb County Division of Family and Children Services. As a SAAG Associate I handle cases involving Dependency actions, Child Abuse Registry Appeals, and Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) Fraud cases.

I represented child clients in a dual role for Dependency cases at DeKalb County Juvenile Court. As a Child Advocate Attorney I managed a caseload of over 80 children while ensuring that they receive appropriate services in an effort to achieve permanency.

I represented clients in divorce proceedings, legitimation actions, child custody, temporary protective hearings and contempt hearings. I also served as a Special Assistant General Associate for the Fulton County Department of Family and Children Services in Dependency cases, Electronic Benefit Transaction Fraud cases and Child Abuse Registry Appeals.

The Law Offices of Divida Gude, LLC worked primarily with Family Law and Personal Injury cases. As a Law Clerk, I initially observed and assisted Attorney Gude with divorce trials, depositions and mediations. I also attended Status Conferences in the Fulton County Family Division, where she served as a Judicial Officer. Substantively, I researched, drafted and prepared documents such as but not limited to: Discovery requests, Motion and Brief for Partial Summary Judgment in a divorce action; Confidentiality Agreement for parties; Motion to Compel Discovery and a Motion for Supersedes Bond.

Fulton County Juvenile Court

As a CASA I established and maintained contact with a child. I gathered information about the child and his/her family, identified needs and possible services, spoke on behalf of the child in court and monitored court orders and case plans to make sure that the case was moving forward. My responsibilities also included meeting with the child monthly; talking with case managers, parents and foster parents; and writing reports for and attending court hearings. I represented the best interest of a child in court and gave a unique perspective as a community volunteer.
