I wrote "The Revolutionary Power of BLACK PANTHER," the cover story for Time Magazine's February 19, 2018 issue. For the New Republic's November 2017 issue, I wrote a feature profile of former NAACP president and current Maryland gubernatorial candidate Ben Jealous. Also published op-eds and essays in the New York Times and the Washington Post, as well as Esquire, BuzzFeed, Vanity Fair, Timeline, and The Daily Beast. I served as a guest host for "The Brian Lehrer Show," WNYC radio's morning program and did the same for KCRW's "To the Point" in October 2017. For two weeks in November 2017, I hosted the special series "One Year Later" for KCRW and Public Radio International. I returned to the show in December for its final week.I appeared regularly as a commentator on MSNBC, CBSN, and other news networks. During my freelance period, I was also a guest on several podcasts, including Crooked Media flagpost shows "Lovett or Leave It" and "With Friends Like These," Futuro Media Group's "In the Thick," and the KCRW politics program "Left, Right & Center." In December 2017, I also did my second volunteer stint as a presenter for 24 HOURS OF REALITY, the annual special on worldwide efforts to combat climate change produced by Vice President Al Gore's Climate Reality Project.

Primary duties includes weekly commentary and reported analysis of national and state politics, as well as co-hosting our weekly political podcast, THE STAKES. Covered the 2016 presidential election, including live reports from candidate rallies and both major party conventions. Serve as a host and presenter for MTV News on broadcast cable, for short online news hits, and during Facebook Live interviews and discussions. Co-hosted a live MTV town hall on police violence after the 2016 killings of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile. Starred in a 12-part YouTube op-ed series, THE RACKET, in which I presented arguments about cultural and political issues aimed at a younger audience. Podcasts have included interviews with Rep. John Lewis of Georgia, Rep. Maxine Waters of California, filmmaker Ava DuVernay, and former Missouri U.S. Senate candidate Jason Kander.
