Worked as a supply primary Teacher at a school in Brent, taught literacy, numeracy, PSHE, RE, Art and History to a year 5 class in Chalkhill primary school for 4 days a week. Tailored lessons for both higher-ability and lower-ability students from various backgrounds and with a wide variety of learning needs. I Was mentored to adjust my secondary teaching style to primary levels and learnt about different subjects as well as methods to teach them- especially literacy. Taught KS3 and KS4, AQA Biology, Chemistry and Physics. I was also enrolled in a Teach First program whilst completing my NQT placement there. My roles and responsibilities included pastoral, so I was a form tutor, supervised-break duties, taught practical lessons, marking and planned. I was also developing my knowledge base by attending regular CPDs online and consulting my mentor who is a Physics specialist about Physics required practicals for KS4. Like many teachers during the pandemic, I adapted my teaching online. It was an easier transition considering my previous online teaching experience. I taught remotely by using a variety of platforms including, google classroom, SENECA, Kerboodle, Kahoot, and Quizlet to ensure that my students could maximise their online learning experience.

My most recent placement was based in Finchley, I was teaching KS3 and KS4 Biology and Physics. I have observed a KS5 Chemistry lesson and I taught a top set Physics class. This developed my subject knowledge as both subjects are out of my subject specialism and a higher level at KS4. I found that asking members of staff about how they would teach the lesson helped me to learn different ways and adapt, I have really developed from staff expertise and experience over there and I hope to continue this professional development throughout my NQT year.

Principal of a new Islamic International School for KG1 and KG2 students, I was involved from the early stages of setting up and recruiting students for the school. The school used a Montessori style interactive secular and a faith based curriculum. I actively worked to promote a school culture that was happy, purposeful and productive.
